Weekend getaway to an Istrian coastline is always a good idea. First, you need around three hours to get to the destination and second, you can spend much more time enjoying your weekend without worrying it will end too soon. But what weekend getaway doesn’t, right? Everything fun and great is over too soon.
So we packed our bags and started our journey. We visited the most beautiful place in the Istrian coastline, Rovinj – Rovigno. They say it’s the most romantic place with its sentimental atmosphere. I totally agree with that one. Especially in offseason where there are not so many tourists and you can enjoy the quietness of the place.
There are really so many reasons this town is worth a visit. Once you step through the Balbi Arch and enter the old town, you’ll get the feeling of entering a totally different time dimension. Beautiful small streets full of restaurants, art galleries, gift shops are totally worth a visit (even in off season we found few of them opened). Interesting architecture in its surroundings, the colorful market where you can buy healthy homemade products and its small beautiful old fisherman port. Food for your mind and soul.
Walking down these lovely, little streets there is a road that will lead you to the top of a small hill, where you will find the most significant monument in town – the church of St. Euphemia. There you can enjoy the amazing view and relax watching the sunset.
An exit to the sea in the Venetian part of Rovinj
Without a doubt, the coolest place to stay when you’re visiting Rovinj is the Hotel Lone. It’s unique, comfortable hotel where everything you need is ready for you. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, lobby bar, restaurants, lounge bar, SPA, swimming pool, fitness, beautiful new beach in front of the hotel – everything is at your disposal.
And best of all, It’s situated just 10-minute easy walk to the old Town. The perfect combination of everything.
Well as I wish to write and write about how cool and beautiful this trip was and describe all the activities you can do and places you can visit when you’re there, I’d rather recommend you check out these links:
The romantical and beautiful city as it is, full of unforgettable moments… Rovinj is the place I’d sure return to over and over again.
